Tennessee’s Memphis A few minutes’ drive from the church, Stephen Pearl, the longstanding facilities manager at Christ Church in East Memphis, passed away following an attack outside his residence.
His family is pleading with the public to assist in identifying the individuals accountable for his demise.

In what the neighbors consider to be an attempted robbery, Pearl was attacked outside his Watson Street home shortly before six in the morning.
According to FOX13, Pearl’s family, he spent more than 25 years working at Christ Church.
Not only did the terrible act of murder take away his three children, but it also took away his church family, over a dozen grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
He didn’t respond at all. Pearl’s next-door neighbor, Ames Saunders, stated, “I got down on the ground and propped his head up, but he just wasn’t responding.” It’s just so sad, you know. Like everyone else, he was a man making plans for the future when all of a sudden, that was it.
Saunders claimed to have heard a gunshot and disturbance early on May 6.
It was shown on camera that the individuals who attacked Pearl leaped out of an SUV and attacked him.
