Everton may be able to alleviate their financial worries quickly by letting go of “frustrated” Arnaut Danjuma, as Ligue 1 contenders Lyon are hoping to finalize a loan deal for the Netherlands international winger.
Danjuma is a temporary player at Everton from Villarreal, but while his time at Goodison Park, the team is supposedly paying his £100,000-per-week salary.
Despite the Merseyside club’s financial difficulties, which have already cost them 10 points in the Premier League and could result in another six-point punishment, this is happening.
Meanwhile, the Liverpool Echo reports that Danjuma is “frustrated” with his lack of opportunities at the club. Despite having participated in 13 Premier League games, he had not started from the opening of a game since September until his start in last weekend’s scoreless draw against Aston Villa.
Notably, he did not feature in the Toffees’ 1-0 victory against Crystal Palace in an FA Cup third-round replay on Wednesday.
Everton has identified a replacement for Danjuma.

While Everton is still connected to Manchester City central midfielder Kalvin Phillips, there is no word on who Sean Dyche would recruit to take Danjuma’s spot on the wing at Goodison Park.
