The family of a Celtic FC supporter who vanished from their Lanzarote vacation has disclosed how a good-hearted Irishman attempted to assist him before to his disappearance.
Scot Gary Watson Shearer, 53, has epilepsy and type 2 diabetes; his family says they now think he is dead since he could not live without his medicine.

That week, Gary had taken a plane to the well-liked vacation island in time for the St. Patrick’s Day festivities.
On Thursday, March 16, outside a bar in the vacation town of Puerto del Carmen, he vanished after being turned away from a taxi.
After neglecting to check in for his return flight, he was declared missing.
The family has already taken a plane to the island to conduct their own investigation, but they have vowed to keep looking for the truth.
“Our world has been torn apart and we can’t sleep or function properly because we fear the worst has happened,” Michelle Shearer, Gary’s sister, said to the Glasgow Times.
We have had to acknowledge and come to terms with the possibility that Gary is no longer alive for the last seven weeks, which have been a living nightmare.
“We are aware that he cannot survive for this long without his daily medication. We are aware that he is on the island, but we are unsure of his precise location.
