BREAKING NEWS: Philippe Clement, who signs a new, long-term contract, highlights Rangers’ dedication.
The Belgian manager, who took over for Michael Beale in October, signed a four-year contract extension with Rangers, demonstrating his long-term commitment to the team. Although the Light Blues ultimately lost out to Celtic in the league, Clement’s rebuilding of a jaded squad this summer has gained the board’s trust. Clement has developed a close relationship with chairman John Bennett and, following initial talks at the end of the previous season, he secured a lucrative new contract.

“Manager Philippe Clement has agreed terms on a new, extended contract with the club,” the statement from the club said. “The Belgian, who joined Rangers last October, has put pen to paper on a new deal until the summer of 2028. Originally agreed in talks between Chairman, John Bennett, and Clement at the end of last season, the arrangement has now been formalized on the eve of the new Scottish Premiership campaign.” Clement added, “I have a really open and transparent relationship with the board – in every meeting that we have had you feel the passion and desire to make the club better and that is the same for me.”
“I am in love with the team, the supporters, the stadium, and the city. I see enormous potential. Now, we need to make the club better and stronger in every department, and we are all really aligned about that,” Chairman John Bennett continued. “As I hinted at in my recent RangersTV interview, Philippe and I had a far-reaching conversation at the end of May. Our shared ambition was clear: the rebuilding of the Rangers men’s first team for the long term as well as the short term. At that meeting, we shook hands on this new contract, and the board is thrilled that the formalities have been completed.”
