HOT PURSUIT: Newcastle united makes aggressive bid to sign a quality CB.
Newcastle have lost Jamaal Lascalles and Sven Botman to season-ending injuries in the 2023/24 Premier League season, underscoring the need for greater depth in center defense. The Magpies qualified for the Champions League in their first season under Saudi ownership, with center backs Botman and Fabian Schar spearheading the charge as part of an exceptional defense.
Newcastle hasn’t been as strong defensively this season, allowing more goals than even Manchester United, but they will most certainly qualify for the Europa League if all goes well. Lloyd Kelly is already on Newcastle’s radar and appears to be a likely free agent signing in the summer of 2024, but he is not the only veteran Premier League center back who may join the Magpies this year.

According to FootMercato.net, Newcastle are now leading the race to recruit Fulham star Tosin Adarabioyo after manager Eddie Howe spoke with the 26-year-old defender. Adarabioyo is one of the Premier League’s best center backs, capable of passing the ball and marking even excellent starting forwards.
Although he is not as good as Botman or Schar, Adarabioyo could easily start games for Newcastle and has the potential to develop into a crucial player for the Magpies, following in the footsteps of players like as Bruno Guimaraes who have produced their greatest performances at St. James’ Park.
