Philippe Clement breaks silence on the actions of the Rangers Women at Tynecastle on Sunday.
Following Rangers Women’s victory against Partick Thistle in the Sky Sports Cup final on Sunday, March 24, Philippe Clement responded on social media.
The manager of the Gers men’s team wrote on his personal Twitter page on Sunday, congratulating Jo Potter and her squad on their 4-1 victory, saying “big congratulations.”
At Tynecastle, goals from Olivia McLoughlin, Rio Hardy, Rachel Rowe, and Mia McAuley made sure the Light Blues kept the trophy.
Rangers Women should be commended for winning the SWPL Cup.
It’s good to see Clement take a moment to congratulate Potter and her team on defeating Partick in the cup final.
The team gave a great performance, winning the match with three goals in the first half against Thistle.
There has been a bit of controversy after the game, with Hearts issuing a statement in response to a Gers badge being placed over the Jambos badge inside the changing room.
Unfortunately, this has detracted some focus from the win since the Edinburgh club demanded an explanation for why their badge was hidden at Tynecastle.
The Light Blues performed admirably, though, and they will be hoping to build on the outcome to help them win additional championships this year.
