James Tavernier, the captain of the Rangers, has re-signed a long-term contract with the team.
Last month, Giovanni van Bronckhorst, the player’s manager, announced that the 30-year-old’s current contract, which expires in 2024, will be extended.

Tavernier has been on a roll since Van Bronckhorst took over in November, but he signed his most recent extension last year.
This month, the right-back exceeded 350 appearances, and since joining the team in 2015, he has scored 85 goals.
He will be well into his mid-thirties with this new contract, and if he stays to the end of it, he will get a testimonial.
Tavernier stated, “I just want to spend more years here and have that security,” after agreeing to a new contract. It’s a fantastic location for football, and I’m excited to see what the future holds. “Since my family and I have made this place our home, extending our contact was an obvious choice,” the player said.
