Breaking News: Jamie Carragher states, “You would imagine,” referring to Dan Ashworth and Eddie Howe’s breakup.
Jamie Carragher thinks there may be more departures coming soon as Newcastle United is likely to lose Dan Ashworth to Manchester United.
Having exerted so much effort to get Dan Ashworth in the first place, the Newcastle administration is prepared for his exit.
It seems that the 52-year-old is headed to Manchester United, as the team gets ready to sign a highly significant player who works behind the scenes at St. James’ Park.
Losing Ashworth less than two years after joining the team is devastating, even though the Magpies will bounce back and find a worthy replacement.
Furthermore, Ashworth might not be the only one to abandon the Newcastle United initiative, according to Jamie Carragher.
Jamie Carragher says Eddie Howe might quit Newcastle as well.
In the most recent episode of the Stick To Football podcast, Carragher discussed Ashworth’s imminent exit and Newcastle United.
He remarked, “I do think Newcastle had such a great season last year, but they have kind of hit a ceiling where you’re like, ‘Oh, how do you make that next jump?'”
“Players like Dan Ashworth and Eddie Howe may come into play at some point, and if Gareth Southgate leaves in the summer, you would think the FA would go for Eddie Howe.”
That strikes me as a major setback for them. Even though Newcastle is a major football team, I always think they will never be as good as Manchester United. He will therefore depart if Man United arrives, and I believe this is a fantastic appointment.

Newcastle must surpass this ceiling.
After making it into the Champions League the previous season, Carragher feels that Newcastle has reached their peak performance to date.
Since then, many rumors have surfaced regarding their biggest players leaving St. James’ Park as they fall short of the success of the previous campaign. For example, rumors over Bruno Guimaraes’s future is persistent.
But would Eddie Howe be leaving too? He has more stock now than he has ever had. After his work at Bournemouth, it was high, but he’s since elevated his profile even further.
That will open up more work options, and when it comes to England, Carragher is hard to disagree with. You have to assume that Gareth Southgate will step down following this summer’s Euros, and Howe will undoubtedly be considered to take his position.
Similar to Ashworth’s move from Newcastle to Manchester United, Howe would see that as an opportunity to advance in his career.
Hopefully, it doesn’t come to pass and Newcastle is able to break through the ceiling that Carragher claims is keeping them in check.
